Does anyone have a promo CD? I'm sure another remix/edit exists somewhere. Because the version that was popular here sampled another song, I think.

Given that it only peaked at #36 on the Radio & Records CHR chart, I'd guess that most of its airplay came from Rhythmic leaning and urban stations. I do know exactly which mix you're talking about, though. It's cut #2 from the promo CD single. I've always thought the "Cool As...Mix/Edit" was far better than the Album Version.

Hot Shot Mix (listed 7:12; actual 7:11) By the way, I'm not sure if it's a sample or merely an interpolation of "He's The Greatest Dancer" by Sister Sledge. It sounds to me like it's probably newly recorded instrumentation rather than directly sampled. Edited by aaronk |
