Anyone know if the 45 can be extracted from the LP?

Yes, the 45 is an edit of the LP. Unfortunately, I longer have my edit notes so I don't recall the specific edit points. |

Been wanting to play this one on my Saturday night 80s show. Does anyone have the edit points on this one?
The LP version is a bit tedious. Thanks. |

Bringing this one back for editing instructions to
recreate the 45 version. Anyone? |

Found a copy of the 45 posted online. I count 4 edits
and an early fade. Here's a link to help with your recreation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5jGfdTUkbU |

I'm not a pro but I can get you pretty close here.
Using the LP version from "the Works": Keep 0:00.000 to 0:08.448 Edit at 0:08.448 Delete 0:08.448 to 0:17.038 Keep 0:17.038 to 0:21.321 Edit at 0:21.321 Delete 0:21.321 to 0:40.543 Keep 0:40.543 to 4:07.811 Edit at 4:07.811 Delete 4:07.811 to 4:27.013 Keep 4:27.013 to 4:45.881 Edit at 4:45.881 Delete 4:45.881 to 5:15.792 Keep 5:15.792 to End Result runs 4:27 *That second edit sounds a bit rough and "halted" to me, but I heard it the same way on the 45. That may be just the way it is. Might be possible to make it sounds smoother, but this is as close as I can get it. *The fade is different on each CD version. It sounds fine to me on "The Works" but I'll defer if somebody thinks it needs a fade as well. *The timing on Greatest Hits II is about 2/10 of a second to 4/10 of a second different at each spot for some reason. The Works and Greatest Hits II might run at slightly different speeds. I can't figure out another reason. So, this only works for "the Works." I have "pretty close" edit points for Greatest Hits II, but also note that that CD dumped the album version anyway, so the resulting 45 version is about 3-4 seconds short. |
