Because of Pat's "consensus" chart system, the #49 Billboard hit "If You Don't Want My Love" by Robert John appears, and the #39 Billboard hit "People" by The Tymes does not. I have no qualms with this, Pat, but I know you're considering adding "fringe" entries like this in the future. BOTH of these 45s hit #1 in my area. (Man, Columbia must've had a persuasive Connecticut label rep in 1968.) Anyhow, when I think of one, I think of the other. I played the version of The Tymes-"People" found on that "Endless Beach" V/A CD (as is Robert John) 5 years ago, on my 60s/70s oldies show - the listeners chewed me up and spit me out about playing the wrong version. A respected collector buddy of mine confirmed that the 45 is not that CD version, just FYI, Pat. (PS - listeners have also yelled at me lately about 2 others, saying that all CD versions of "Respectable" by the Outsiders and "Any Day Now" by Chuck Jackson are not the 45 versions. Haven't had time to check them yet. I emphasize 45 versions on the show, so the listeners' antenna is up for it - I've found that they are right 98% of the time.)

Regarding "Respectable" by the Outsiders, the cd versions are all :03 shorter than the 45 or LP and the cd mix seems to be slightly different from the 45 or LP in that the organ is mixed lower on cd but otherwise the cd appearances are all the original take, perhaps not the original mix.

Thanks for taking the time to look into that for me, Pat.

to my ears, the mixes are the same and any perceived
differences are from the mono/stereo delivery.....and the
45 runs 0:03 longer than the cd appearances...
