Hi, I'll just post Rick's LZ question since he is having trouble with the site:

I'm experiencing some temporary trouble logging on to the chatboard for
postings and replies, or else I would have put out a wider call for
this.
But since this is a small sub-group of fellow finatical 45 editors and
collectors...has anyone attempted to recreate dj edit versions of Whole
Lotta Love, Black Dog, D'yer Maker and Fool In The Rain? Or does
anyone by
chance happen to own any of the dj promo 45s for reference?   "Whole
Lotta"
appears to be one - or possibly two - easy edits and an early fade, but
I'd
be doing it strictly from memory - which would very likely render it
less
than exact and thus unacceptable.

Thanks,
Rick

I just sent Rick a (3:12) version of "Whole Lotta Love." I'd be curious about the others as well.

Wasn't the commercial 45 of "D'yer Ma'ker" the same as the LP?

Found my Whole Lotta Love single w/ King Curtis version of the B-side.
Oddly, it clocks in at 5:33, isn't that the length of the LP version? The label
on the 45 is red with white background.

I think I have all of those. Including the D'Yer Maker edit which was only that short on the DJ. I was suprised when I found that one, I had not realized there was an edit on it. I think it's just an early fade. Email me and I can convert them all to MP3s and send them to you. I'm in the directory.

The mono-only Whole Lotta Love Atlantic DJ 45 runs 3:11.

I think he's referring to "Whole Lotta Love."

I finally got to hear an mp3 of the stereo 45 edit of "Whole Lotta Love". The only cut is from 1:22 (right before the drum solo) to 3:02 (the drum fill leading to the guitar solo). Then, with this edit, start the fade at 3:00 to 3:11.

I also found that the mp3 needed to be pitched up about 0.4%, but that could be a vinyl transfer issue.
