Howdy all! I know this wasn't a Top 40 hit - it was the b-side of "Ride My See-Saw" in the U.K., and wasn't released in the U.S. until the "This Is the Moody Blues" compilation in 1974 (and that was a remix). Since I don't have a copy of the 45, I'm wondering if anyone can verify the mix, length, and pitch of the proper single version.

The massive "Timeless Flight" box sports a stereo mix that runs 3:44, and starts cold. The "Prelude" CD features a different stereo mix that runs 3:42, and fades in. Both claim to be the original single mix (though surely the 45 was mono), and are roughly the same speed. (For comparison, the "This Is" remix is the same pitch as the stereo mixes, and starts cold.) I found a YouTube rip of the actual 45 (country of origin unknown) - it runs 3:30, starts cold, is mono, and runs significantly slower than the other two versions. Granted, the pitch difference could result from a slow TT, but the shorter fade can clearly be heard underneath the vinyl crackle.

Any Moodies fans here that can help alleviate my confusion?

Thanks,
Jay
