Thanks to Ron Gerber and Chuck Tomlinson for having me on Crap From The Past this past Friday night! We
spent a couple of hours discussing the 50th Anniversary of both Record Research and American Top 40:

Really interesting show.

I note the comment about the UK charts and the books that they mentioned
briefly that are "full of spelling mistakes". Yes, some really are! But the new
series from Graham Betts (I'll link to one)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Books-Graham-Betts/s?
rh=n%3A266239%2Cp_27%3AGraham+Betts. (Tried to link but it doesn't want
to do that for me)

and he does try and ensure that everything is spelt correctly.
I've also tried to do that with my own books. It is really hard, so hats of to you,
Joel and all at Record Research (I own well over 20 of the Record Research
books) for the level of detail!

BTW the Billy Joel song "Rosalinda's Eyes" that was
mentioned during the radio show did get played on Miami
radio back in 1979 on the adult contemporary station
back in 1979 (101.5 Lite FM which is still on the air).
Surprised that Columbia never released the song as a
single. Enjoyed listening to the show (as I do weekly).
Ron plays tons of cool and obscure songs/versions.
