I notice all instances of the LP version in the database
run at 4:50 and seems to cut the song a bit short,
missing the few final drum beats. I have a version in my
own files of the song running closer to 5 minutes with
the final drum beats intact, pulled from vinyl.
Does anyone know of the full version being available in
digital form?

I think what you are referring to is the 12" single. Mine on CBS/Barking Pumpkin 4w9 03069, the time states on the label as 4:59 and actually runs 4:58.9 (close enuf). It has the final drum beats which, so far, the CD's do not include. Maybe an import might have the extra seconds that might have been mastered from the session tape back in 1982, but since we're probably dealing with the Zappa estate, we might not ever see those 8 or 9 seconds ever again. -Bill.

FRANK Zappa...don't you, like TOTALLY, so mean MOON
Zappa? (ALTHOUGH he IS heard,too..GAG me!)
You know you're really older when you think that younger singer Jesse McCartney's related in anyway to former Beatle Paul McCartney.

Depends on what you look at.

The picture sleeve is credited to Frank & Moon Zappa. The
actual 45 (or 12" single) is only credited to Frank Zappa.

Just checking here..is the 45 an early fade from the LP
version? I didn't detect any edits or remix of the 45.
Is this one of those cases where Pat lists "version" in
the DB but he really means "length"?
I just wanted to make sure before I fade the LP version
to make the 45 version.

If you need the copy on the Rhino Omigod box set, let me know. Pat says it's the 45 version.

Yes Mark I agree that you can recreate the 45 version of
Valley Girl from the LP version by a fade. The reason I
use "version" rather than "length" as a comment is that
the LP version ends cold while the 45 version fades.
