the db states that all the commercial 45's ran 3:47..........i have a commercial 45 and it states a run time of 4:27 and indeed runs 4:27 and is identical to the version from "true blue".....the fade is a little earlier than the cd version but it DOES NOT runs 3:47 like you claim in the db.......is it possible that there are 2 different versions of the commercial 45's issued...........anyone help here..........edtop40

All commercial copies of US 7" singles I have come across so far contain the 4:27 album version. It was also used for the UK and Japan 7" single.

The only release besides the USA promo 7" where I have seen the 3:47 version is on the Japan promo only 7" single, where it was backed with the 4:27 album version.

This early fade is available on CD on the Japan CD Single Collection, and by mistake I might add, because the commercial 7" single used the 4:27 album version backed with "Think Of Me" (from her debut album).

The single included in the box inaccurately uses the cover art of the promo single (that states Side A: Edit Version and Side B: LP Version) yet plays the commercial version of the single.

I thought Pat had changed that a long time ago. Ed is correct: all commercial 7-inch singles found so far are the full-length LP version running 4:27.

I am not worried about who said it first, just to clarify, you wrote:

Ed is correct: all commercial 7-inch singles found so far are the full-length LP version running 4:27

and my quote said:

All commercial copies of US 7" singles I have come across so far contain the 4:27 album version

Pretty similar, so I thought you were referring to my paragraph.

I have the dj copy only of this song. My comment about the commercial 45 running 3:47 was based on Joel Whitburn's (3:47) stated time in his Pop Annual.
