Nancy Sinatra - Sugar Town

On the disc Sunshine Days Vol 4 the track is in stereo with
a time listed of 2:25. Listening at high volume I do not
notice very much reverb if any on either channel. Beware my
hearing is no longer the best.

MJB50 is correct. I checked the Rhino CD and that has
the
original stereo mix but with some added stereo reverb to
"sweeten" the mix. I checked the original 1967 stereo,
and
that still has considerable mono reverb on her vocal.

In the mono 45, the backing music is totally dry. And her
vocal has NO reverb, it only has a very slight quick echo
effect (as described above) but no reverb. So this is a
dedicated mono mix.

You'll notice the slight echo on her vocal, unlike the
reverb in the stereo mixes.

Aww jeez!

This really is a personal favorite of mine. I need to look where I picked it up from CD. I was just commenting to one of my kids in the car that this was a fav of mine.

At least I know I have it someplace on CD. Now the quest begins on where it is. I hope I encoded enough data to my mp3 for the car to figure it out.

To further confuse things, Rhino's "The Hit Years", originally issued in 1986
(my copy) does not have the extra reverb - the song sounds the same as on
"Start Walkin'". Perhaps it's the remastered "The Hit Years" that contains this
extra reverb.

To tell the differences in the two THY CDs, on "How Does That Grab You
Darlin'?", the original issue of the THY CD has the instrumental track centre,
Nancy singing right and the horns left, whereas the remastered version has the
instrumental track right, Nancy centre, horns left. Don't know how many other
songs were remastered, but HDTGYD was the one that stood out when I first
heard my friend's remastered copy.
