After updating the forum on April 1, I think we finally have most (if not all) of the bugs worked out. The only downside is that we lost some posts between April 1 and April 4, most of which were from Todd Ireland and me, as well as a topic covering Billy Vaughn's "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" that had some good information from davidclark and MusicProf.
Fortunately, I was able to capture all the pertinent info from those lost topics and incorporate it into the database, so all was not lost. The good news is that our forum is now running on a more stable, robust engine than it was before, and all 500 pages of topics are viewable again. Nevertheless, if you run into any errors here on the forum, please copy and paste the error and send it to me in an email, along with a description of what you were doing when the error occured (i.e. posting a new topic, updating your profile, etc.). As an additional bit of good news, I contacted the company who makes the forum software to let them know about the bug when searching for topics that have quotes or an apostrophe. Apparently, nobody had ever bothered to let them know about this issue in the last 20 years. After they became aware, they fixed the issue, and the fix will be part of the next forum version, which is likely due out sometime this year. Edited by aaronk - 16 hours 1 minutes ago at 11:29pm |
