I've had a couple questions by paying subscribers about the PayPal email that was sent out on May 1. As announced last month, the annual subscription price has increased from $29.95 to $39.95, which is our first price increase in 20 years. Your subscription and the increase is helping to cover all the programming updates we've done this year, so thank you for being a paid member!
To clarify, the PayPal email does NOT mean you were charged $39.95 yesterday. It is only a notification that the next time your subscription is due to renew it will be at the new price. Additionally, my main business is called Uptown Sound, and your PayPal subscription for the top 40 database will be billed as Uptown Sound LLC. |

You should update /TermsAndConditions.asp to show the new price now that the discount is done.
Also I just used that page to pay with PayPal, and although the payment went through, all that happened on that page was I got a notification overlay in my browser (Edge) with my profile ID. I don't want to paste it here but it starts with "I-0". I kinda expected that I'd be redirected to some kind of "it worked" page instead. And, I'm a bit unclear on whether I really needed to manually do that, or if my previous subscription would have renewed anyway. I don't want to get double-billed now. Thanks for pointing out that a "success" message was missing. You're the first person to let me know. I think it will show a messaage now after checking out if I modified the code correctly.
I've also updated the price on the Terms And Conditions page, so it now reflects $39.95. If your previous subscription was renewed anytime prior to mid-August 2024, the payment was being sent to Pat Downey. In August, we manually cancelled all of those subscriptions so that they would not auto renew. When I took over the site, I had everyone's subscription end dates documented, and I've been reaching out to those subscribers when it was time to renew by setting up a new subscription. All that said, you will not be double-billed, and going forward your subscription will auto-renew unless you manually cancel it. mjb50, your subscription was set to expire within the next couple days, and I now have you updated through 2026. |

I had an issue several years ago with Paypal and Pat had to cancel my original long running subscription and created me a new one. But, I wasn't getting automatic payments taken out so I created a calendar entry and paid him manually every June.
I never received an email about renewal so I guess I'm not on the automatic renewal list as I should be. |

John, yes, your subscription is good through June. When the time comes, I'll send a reminder email to set up a new subscription. Thanks!
