The actual vinyl 45's running time is also (4:16), the printed info on the record label is "4:17" (single version) (Warner 7-19595)
edtop40, Thank you very much for posting of lots of cassette single information. --abagon |

I have the "Single Version" on a few different
compilations. They all omit the opening "breath" before the instruments/vocal come in and start with just the "I don't wanna hear about it anymore" vocal/guitar. For years, I thought that was the single version ... until I came across Billboard Top Hits 1991, in which I heard the "breath" for the first time. Does the cassette single feature this opening "breath" then? |

Jason, Are you saying the Billboard Top Hits 91 is the correct version that matches this discogs listing? I don't recall ever hearing the breath.. https://www.discogs.com/Damn-Yankees-High-Enough/release/138 37507 I listened to the 1991 Billboard Top Hits version, you are right it does start out with a breath. I can have Aaron check the CD promo above. I don't have access to cassettes. I can ask Ed to see if its on there... The 45 does have the breath: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7NMjlwpR18 Edited by PopArchivist |

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

Hey Rich,
You just answered my question (with that YouTube link). Since the 45 has the "breath", then I know that it was not exclusive to the Billboard Top Hits 1991 CD. I was just surprised at how many CDs do not have that "breath", making me question if the "breath" was actually on the single. Thank you! |

I hadn't noticed before, but the single version is not just an edit but a totally unique mix.
