For those of you who are familiar, I have been assembling the Hot 100 years the best I can from available CD source, dubs and edits made from the LP to match the 45's where applicable.

Since there isnt a reference for radio edits directly in the annual (or as many of you refer to as 45 promos) I thought it might help people with their collections by listing the radio edits.

Also I have a few 1979 lower rungs I need and was wondering if anyone possible knew if they made CD. Thanks as always.

1979 Radio Edits

Rod Stewart - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (4:15)
Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven (3:52)
Bee Gees - Tragedy (4:10)
Michael Jackson - Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough (3:56)
Barbra Streisand - The Main Event/Fight (4:05)
Dire Straits - Sultan of Swing (4:43)
John Stewart - Gold (3:36)
Supertramp - Take The Long Way Home (4:04)
Supertramp - Goodbye Stranger (4:28)
Pablo Cruise - I Want You Tonight (3:51)
Foxy - Hot Number (3:34)
Rolling Stones - Shattered (2:44)
Chuck Brown - Bustin' Loose Part 1 (3:02)
April Wine - Roller (3:34)
J. Geils Band - One Last Kiss (3:37)
Bram Tchailkovksy- Girl Of My Dreams (3:13)
Billy Thorpe - Children Of The Sun (4:36)
Mass Production - Firecracker (3:47)
Firefall - Goodbye, I Love You (3:25)
Narada Michael Walden - I Don't Want Nobody Else (3:37)
Pat Tavares - Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights) Live (3:19)
Player - Silver Lining (3:22)
Abba - Voulez-Vous (3:45)
Gibson Brothers - Cuba (3:02)
Tim Curry - I Do The Rock (3:02)

Here's what I can't find 45 versions of on CD or good vinyl dubs of

Bonnie Boyer - Got To Give In To Love
Beckmeier Brothers - Rock and Roll Dancin'
Bonnie Pointer - Free Me From My Freedom/Tie Me To A Tree (Handcuff Me)
Randy Brown - You Says It All
Grey & Hanks - Dancin'
Alicia Bridges - Body Heat (The LP is available)
Bama - Touch Me When We're Dancin
Cherie & Marie Currie - Since Youve Been Gone
Gene Chandler - When You're #1 (the 12'' is everywhere)
Tim Curry - I Do The Rock (the promo 45)

What is the difference between the 45 version and the LP
version from her "I Love the Nightlife" album? They both
seem to run 3:59.

Both of those Supertramp radio edits are on their Classics
Volume 9 CD.

There are three more 1979 DJ promo edits I'm aware of from reading the threads on each song on this forum:

Dancing In The City - Marshall Hain (3:28)
Happiness - Pointer Sisters (3:22)
Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya - New England (3:17) "new edit"

I have never heard these three shorter edits and I'm pretty sure they are not on CD. All three are still on my want list.

"Happiness" - Remove the 0:36 intro and you have the promo edit.
"Dancing In The City" - Remove 2:28 to 2:47. The edit should be before the lyric "in" on the downbeat.
"Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya" - If you already have the single version, just remove the first 13.5 seconds and start with the first drum hits.

No difference between the US stock 45 and LP, but there's a Jim Burgess remix that appears on the 12" and promo 45 (short / long).

Of course, Aaron is correct. However,
The Jim Burgess
remix DID appear on the repress of the
U.S. LP while the
cut was getting heavy airplay on Top-40
radio.

Andy

EDITED TO ADD: I am in error! My repress
of the album does NOT contain the Jim
Burgess remix of "Body Heat". Sorry
Aaron & Rich!

Good to know. I'm pretty sure my LP has a printed time of 3:02, but now I'm curious to know if it has the original version or the remix. I do know that some pressings have the 12" version of "I Love The Nightlife," but I hadn't previously seen anything about "Body Heat" being swapped, too.

That's why I am looking for it and noted the LP is available.
