Database CDs containing Lou Rawls' "A Natural Man" have run times ranging from 3:34 to 3:41. I can confirm that the song runs 3:39 on commercial mono 45 pressings and on the Natural Man vinyl LP (both labels have a printed time of 3:40). Meanwhile, I have notes from the late Jim Abbott indicating that the actual run time on his commercial stereo 45 copy was 3:41 (again with a printed label time of 3:40). I supposed it wouldn't be unthinkable for run time lengths on mono and stereo 45 copies to differ from one another? I do know that Jim was always very insistent in claiming that his turntable was regularly calibrated for playback speed accuracy, and therefore, he typically stood very confidently behind his timing information, for what that's worth.

Yes, there are many cases where the mono and stereo sides of a promo 45 don't run exactly the same length, especially when the mono side is a dedicated mix.
