the cassingle issued as mca 54757 contains a non described version that runs 5:08 and is identical to the "george halas edit" listed below from the promo cd single

the promo cd single issued as mca5p-2884 contains 4 tracks....
1--radio edit (4:00) (runs 4:02)
2--george halas edit (4:58) (runs 5:08)
3--knute rockne edit (5:19) (runs 5:28)
4--album version (5:41) (runs 5:49)

the cassingle version is also found as the first track on the import cd single issued as vscdg 1479-7243-8-92234-2-2

this info should be duely noted

A couple of things regarding how Meat Loaf's "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" is noted in the database...

First, the database erroneously shows the album version on the promo CD single as having an actual run time of 5:21. I'm sure this is a typo because Ed reports the actual run time at 5:49, which does match the run time of the true CD/LP version.

Second, there is a version of "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" appearing on the Meat Loaf Bat out of Hell II (Deluxe Edition) CD (MCA 088112810) with a run time of 5:26 that is currently listed in the database with the comment: (neither the 45 nor LP version). My intuition tells me there's a very good chance this 5:26 version could well be the "Knute Rockne Edit" that appears on Ed's promo CD single.

Ed, if you wouldn't mind sending me an mp3 of the "Knute Rockne Edit" track, I'll be glad to compare it to the version in question on the Bat out of Hell II (Deluxe Edition) CD and report back with the results

Thanks to Ed's help, I have confirmed that the version of "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" running 5:26 on the Meat Loaf Bat out of Hell II (Deluxe Edition) CD (MCA 088112810) is indeed the "Knute Rockne Edit", which appears on the DJ CD single release. The back of plastic slip sleeve that packages the Bat out of Hell II (Deluxe Edition) CD also specifically indicates this 5:26 version is the "Knute Rockne Edit". Pat, you might want to note this in the database. Also, the LP version on the DJ CD single runs 5:49, not 5:41.

After the Deluxe Edition of Back Out Of Hell II was released there was also a single disc released (in 2010 on Geffen B0013746-02) called Rarities Edition with ten tracks of edits & mixes all previously available on the double disc Deluxe Edition. This single disc is not currently listed in the database.
