So as not to "clutter" Pat's Board with information that is beyond the scope of his database, our own BillyDee203, who operates a Live365 Internet radio site called Capital Radio.us (may actually be one long word), has opened up chat boards for these topics, which on occasion wrongly seep onto Pat's Board. While I will be as active as ever on this Board, I have already both registered and posted in both of these forum categories, and I intend to continue to do so often. While I love Top 40, it is currently NOT my primary personal interest; below the Top 40/Bubbling Under/non-charting regional hits from the 60s/70s are, and I have much info to share about them, if anyone is interested. Just to let you know. Thanks for the opportunity, Pat. Hopefully, this will help keep YOUR Board more "on-point."

Jim, I just checked out the site. Interesting.
Still, since there are so many people on this board who are interested in learning about single versions whether they peaked above #40 or below #40, I personally think it's OK to continue including such info in the chatboard here. It will make it a lot easier on us to check one board and not have to flip back and forth between two. Just my thoughts. (Perhaps you could include info on both sites, if you like. I don't want you to lessen what you wish to offer to the other site.) Are there any others who would continue enjoying seeing all this "single version" info here? Edited by EdisonLite |

Yes, I like seeing all the "single" & "radio" version comments here in one place, too.
Many great songs that didn't reach the national top-40 were played regionally or locally on top-40 radio and they "felt like" top-40 hits to me. I'm confident that other people in different parts of the country have a similar story with other, different mid-charters. Andy |

I'd like to thank Jim for the plug (and yes, the address is one long word,
CapitalRadio.us. I know I certainly appreciate all the work Pat has done with the book, database and the boards here. It's a valuable forum that I know comes in very handy. I've found many upper charting tunes that I think are great and for whatever reason they just didn't crack the Top 40. Add to this, many of these songs also have their "radio promo" and "retail single" versions. I discovered this looking for a tune that charted in the 80's and discovered the song sounded different in the reference aircheck I had. Talk about trying to find a needle in a haystack! So my feeling is I enjoy reading the non-Top 40 stuff here, but for those who want to participate on my board that's fine too. Bill |
