I noticed there are database CDs that have the comment "edit of LP version." I can say for sure that there is an "Edit" on an official US promo CD single that runs (5:02). If someone would like to shoot me a copy of any of the database CDs with that "edit of LP version," I can compare it to the DJ version on DPRO-79027.

Aaron, this doesn't answer your question, but FYI, the listed & actual (5:02) "Edit" version found on your promo CD single (DPRO-79027) was also the version that we played on-the-air back in 1992, is the shortest officially-released version of the song that I know of, and was included on the second different promo CD single we received in for the song. The first one happens to include the "Legit Remix" cassette single version that Ed references above. So in case our buddy is still looking for a CD source for it, here are all of my various promo CD single particulars for this song:

Hammer-"2 Legit 2 Quit" (DPRO-79005)
1-(LP Version) (listed 5:36; actual 5:34)
2-(Legit Remix) (listed 7:52; actual 7:51)
3-(Get Bucked Mix) (listed 10:16; actual 10:15)

Hammer-2 Legit 2 Quit" (DPRO-79027)
1-(Edit) (listed & actual 5:02)
2-(LP Version) (listed 5:36; actual 5:34)
3-(Instrumental) (listed & actual 5:34)

I just picked up this 45 (Capitol 57700) and was
surprised to see the length of the A-side. I believe
this is a remix, with a shorter edit of the same mix on
the b-side.

A: Listed 7:12 / actual 7:10.
B: Listed 5:10 / actual 5:08.

Of course, by 1991, I think the cassingle would have
been the standard single, rather than a jukebox 45.
