First off, for all 45s I own for this, stock or promo, all show a listed time of (2:55). I own two different promo 45s: one is stereo on both sides, and has an actual time of (3:02) on both sides. This promo 45 says (C-174-AS) on the label. My other promo copy is mono on both sides, has an actual time of (2:57) on both sides, and says (C-174-A) on the label. My commercial copy is mono, and has the exact same timings as my mono promo does. Current database CDs all run between (3:02) and (3:06).

There are also two stereo mixes out on CD on this song, I don't know the history of those mixes. One has the guitar louder and more distorted than the other. Anyone else notice that? Anyone have the original LP to compare?

The mono 45 has an edit on the intro that shortens it by 5 or 6 seconds.

This is another oddity as my mono dj 45 runs (2:57) just like Jim reports and it has a :09 instrumental introduction. Jim also reports tht his commercil 45 which is mono is identical to the dj mono 45. My LP runs (3:02) just like Jim's stereo dj 45 and it also has a :09 instrumental introduction. So now Eriejwg reports that the mono commercial 45 has an edit in the introduction. Can anyone dive in here and explain this edit reported by Eriejwg?

My mono commercial 45 also has a :09 intro and an actual time of (2:57). My stereo/stereo DJ 45 (intro also :09) plays to just a hair past (3:03). While both of these Calla 45s were mastered by Bell Sound in NYC, they were pressed at different RCA plants: the mono stock at Indianapolis, the stereo DJ at Rockaway, NJ.
There is also a significant speed difference between the two: the mono stock 45 runs approximately 2.4 seconds faster by the end of the record in relation to the same spot on the longer stereo DJ 45. Edited by Yah Shure |

My apologies, I should have given more clarification. When someone sent me a stereo CD version to match the mono 45, I noticed that the CD version had a longer intro than on the 45.
The intro on the 45 was 9 seconds. Sorry for the confusion. |

Ed had sent me the files, so you'd have to ask him. The CD version started off with a drum beat and the intro was longer.

i don't own the original cd anymore, i have it on cdr, but i believe it's the version from the "soul hits of the 70's" cd.......i will try and describe the cdr version i have......
the cdr starts with a snare tap then there are 4 guitar loops then the "toot-toot-toot-toot-toot" part at the 0:13 mark... the 45 doesn't have the snare tap at the beginning and only 2 guitar loops and then the "toot-toot-toot-toot-toot" part at the 0:05 mark... i hope this is helpful....and thanks to john for re-creating the proper 45 version....aside from the mono/stereo differences... my commercial 45 has "C-174-A-1 A6B" in the run out groove.....is it possible there are 2 vinyl 45's? All cd appearances of "I Love You For All Seasons" do not match my mono dj 45 or stereo LP. Jim since you have the stereo dj copy of this song could you please check the intro on that stereo dj 45 to see if that is what appears on every cd in the database? (i.e. intro longer than :09)
