While comparing the 45 with the "30 GH" version, I noticed a much different mix in parts. For one thing the vocal is much more prominent and at about 2:40 the instrumentation changes. I don't have any of the CDs where it appears in mono, but I'm wondering if the stereo version might be a different mix. Can anyone confirm?

Robert I will back you up on the fact that there is a difference between the mono and strereo versions of this song on cd. I have the original 45 which matches the mono versions on cd but I do not yet have the original vinyl stereo LP that this song appeard on. I am bidding on a copy right now so eventually I'll be able to determine if this is an LP version vs 45 version situation or just a mistake in pulling the wrong master tape for the 30 Greatest Hits cd.

Thanks, Pat. I've just found my copy of "This Girl's In Love With You" and can confirm that it's the same as the stereo version on "30 Greatest." It's definitely not the mono 45. So I'm inclined to agree with you that it's a case of "LP version / 45 version" in which the mono 45 was the single and the stereo version was on the LP. Why they decided to change the ending is beyond me.
