My commercial 45, which is mono and confirmed as Motown 1142, has a listed time of (2:18), but an actual time of (2:22).

According to the database, mono CD appearances of Diana Ross and the Supremes & the Temptations' "I'll Try Something New" run 2:22-2:24, while stereo ones clock in between 2:17-2:20. What's particularly interesting about this is the comment "45 mix" appears next to the CD title Diana Ross & The Supremes and the Temptations Joined Together – The Complete Studio Duets (Motown B0001624) which features the song in mono. However, none of the other CDs in the database containing "I'll Try Something New" have a "45 mix" or "LP mix" notation attached. Is this an oversight, or is the "45 mix" comment for the aforementioned CD listed in error? |

Todd, that comment was taken directly off the cd jacket of the Motown B0001624 cd. After listening to the other mono versions of "I'll Try something New" I agree that there is a dedicated mono mix of the 45 version of this song.
