This left-field, moog synthesizer instrumental Top 40 hit, which my commercial 45 states as "Side II" and was originally the intended B-side for its flip side, "Topless Dancers of Corfu". Radio flipped it over, however, in 1969. My commercial 45, which is mono and confirmed as Command/ABC 4126, has a listed time of (7:30), but an actual time of (7:21). My promo 45 also has this exact same, listed (7:30)-actual (7:21) version on one side of it. However, the other side of my promo features a shorter version of "The Minotaur", with a listed time of (3:15) and an actual time of (3:17).

Can the short version be extracted from the long version?

doug, i don't know about the 3:17 short version, but i
just reviewed the lp version and the 7:21 commercial 45
version CAN be extracted from the 8:30 lp
version.....actually it's just an edit of the intro and
fade out issue.....if you edit off the first 0:20 of the
8:30 lp version and then fade out for 0:05 from 7:36 to
7:41 of the lp version, you can effectively re-create the
commercial 45 version running 7:21..if anyone needs a copy
of my edit and fade, please send me a pm or email...

ed, does the 45 edit start with a few second of the opening synthesizer before
the "rhythm" of the song starts, or does it start at the "rhythm" part.
