Would anyone be able to provide details on this edited
version? Is it an early fade, truly edited, remixed?

I actually have a few Eurythmics related questions if
anyone here would be able to provide info! :)

It's an early fade of the album version.

Someone posted a promo 45 on YouTube, so was able to duplicate that.

No one asked, but it seems there are three 12" versions:

• The 12" A-side, subtitled 'An Eric "ET" Thorngren Mix' (4:51). I don't think this has ever been released on CD. It starts with solo vocal samples "Would I Lie, Would I Would I Would I Lie, Lie", then guitars and drums but no bass.

• The 12" B-side, subtitled 'Extended Mix' (4:57). It's identical to the album version but runs about 30 seconds longer. This was released brickwalled on the 2005 reissues of the Be Yourself Tonight album, misidentified there as the 'ET Mix'. A much better remaster of it was released on the Dutch CD Dance Classics: Pop Edition vol. 12 in 2013.

• Another version subtitled 'Extended Mix' (5:00). It seems to be an alternate Eric Thorngren mix, sounding much the same but edited differently than the 12" A-side. It starts right off with guitar, bass, and drums. This was released on one of the three Eurythmics "Dance Vault Remixes" digital EPs in 2006. Did this ever get released anywhere else?

Also, there's the other B-side, "Here Comes That Sinking Feeling". It seems the US 12" has the album version, but the UK 12" is a different, less polished mix; among other little differences, there's no synth behind the drums when they first come in at 0:15. I'm wondering if this version is also on any 45s. [edit: apparently it is on the US 45, maybe others]

The E.T.12" mix of Would I Lie To You is on
this U.k. cd.

Most CD appearances of the LP version run about 4:22. To recreate the single fade from the LP version, start the slow fade
at about the 3:45 mark and come to full silence around 4:03 (you should hear the "would I lie to you" refrain repeated
one last time after Annie sings "watch me now"; the full fade out occurs during a high "wooooo" note).
