Can the 45 version be created from the LP version? 45 is listed at 3:04 and the Lp version runs 3:58 or so.

John:

Yes, the 45 version of Charlie Daniels Band's "The South's Gonna Do It" is an edit of the LP version.

Do you have the edit instructions handy for this one?

I'm pretty sure all you do is chop out the piano solo -- in other words go straight from the guitar solo after the first verse (all 24 bars) into the verse that starts "Elvin Bishop sittin' on a bale of hay..."

There's also an edit during the fiddle finale, which plays twice on the LP version, but only once on the 45.

Does anyone have a dub of the 45 that I can hear?

I have a recreation, but from my memory it is not
accurate.

Scratches OK!

Thanks,

Andy

Thank you to Kerry who let me hear it!

It turned out my recreation was accurate; it was my
memory that was not accurate...
