There's a new single CD Steve Winwood collection just released which covers the two biggest Spencer Davis hits (mono), Traffic, a Blind Faith track, and his solo hits, most of them the harder to find edits. I did a quick listen, here's what I heard:

While You See a Chance (edit)

Valerie (I believe this isn't the remixed single version)

Higher Love (LP version)

Finer Things (single edit and mix)

Back in the High Life Again (single version)

Roll with It (single fade)

Don't You Know What The Night Can Do (single version)

Thanks for the heads up Bill. If they would only include the single version of "Holding On" then it would be a must have.

It's worth noting here that the edited version of While You See A Chance may be unique to the US edition of the Revolutions CD. My copy states 'Made in the EU' on the sleeve and has a different catalogue number (5327517) to the one listed in Pat's database. It contains the full length, unedited version of While You See A Chance. There may be other differences too, but this was the most obvious anomaly to my ears.

As this is my first post on the board, I'd like to take the opportunity to say hi and thank you to everyone who has provided valuable information here, such as detailed DIY editing instructions for those of us who are brave enough to attempt our own 45 version reconstructions. Your help is greatly appreciated.

But just to make my job a little bit harder, here in New Zealand, single releases tend to be a mix of US 45 versions and UK 45 versions, and in some cases just standard LP versions, even when a designated 45 version has been issued elsewhere in the world. Plus I have to contend with all of the Australasian-only releases, for which there is little or no information readily available on the internet. It also doesn't help that there are no second hand stores in my city that sell old 45s or CD singles. However, a friend of mine recently acquired a couple of truckloads of old 45s from two radio stations that closed down and he was kind enough to let me look through them and pull copies of anything I wanted to dub or use as a reference for my own editing.

But enough about me... and thanks again!

Regards
Duane

Welcome aboard Duane. Maybe you can help identify import
releases we missed. I look forward to your future posts.
