My TM Century library contains a 4:04 version of "Show Me The Way." This version must be edited in some way, because it has a cold ending. Currently, there are no promo versions noted in the database.

Jim, thanks for sending over the cuts for analysis. My TM copy runs shorter than yours, because they have lopped off the first 2 seconds. They did this often on songs that have a fade-in intro, most likely in attempt to make on-air playback sound tighter.

In comparing the Edit and A/C versions, there is a noticeable mix difference on the A/C Mix. Starting at 1:53, they have brought the keyboards louder in the mix and lowered the electric guitars. Other than that, the two versions are the same.

As the Gulf War was starting (and ending, lol) at about this time, I remember a version of this on the radio that contained clips from soldiers (I think) saying hello to family at home, maybe kids talking about love or peace or something...

...Anyway, I was just wondering if this was an "official" release from the label or if it was a radio industry remix that got passed from station to station.

Either way, does anybody know if a copy is floating around anywhere to day? It was quite moving at that moment in time...

Yes, it's called the WAVA Desert Shield Mix. I used to have a copy at one time, dubbed from a TM Century HitDisc. I know it was issued on HitDisc, but I'm guessing they received it from WAVA-FM, a station in Washington DC that used to be CHR.

Can anyone provide edit points to create the 4:07 "Edit Version" from the longer commercial 45 version, please?

Thanks in advance.

If you could find it much appreciated Aaron. I could not even find it on CD anywhere...

Thanks for the video link but I need a copy from a CD or lossless source. Youtube quality is compressed and lossy.

I likely have the original HitDisc that it appeared on. It's possible that TM Century's HitDisc was the only widely distributed disc. I highly doubt A&M ever pressed it up on promo CD.
