My commercial 45 (confirmed as WB 5643, with machine-stamped deadwax of "HA-14531-1A") has a listed time of (2:56) and an actual time of (2:57). I only post this info because all five current database CDs that feature this song have slightly shorter run times, from (2:50) to (2:55). Thankfully, the outstanding and upcoming Collector's Choice mono singles set for Petula Clark should put to bed any possible issues regarding this song. And a personal thank you to Gordon Anderson for respecting and understanding that many differences can/do exist on mono single versions vs. their stereo counterparts, and for going the extra mile to track down/issue them on CD. Mr. Anderson, Collector's Choice will continue to have both my loyalty and steady business for life. Nothing against the stereo loyalists - and I know there are many. I just so very much appreciate the option of finally having the mono 45 versions of hit songs available to be purchased, vs. finding an often-alternate stereo LP mix/version of a hit made available for the upteenth time.

Indeed, this Petula Clark 2-CD set on Collector's Choice is officially titled: The Complete Warner Bros. Singles and features all 46 of the artist's A-side and B-side singles released from 1964-1971, including 40 mono mixes... most of which have never been issued on CD! Like Jim said, this comes as VERY welcome news for fans and collectors who now finally have the option of hearing Petula Clark's hits on CD in their original mono hit single form!

My question is, does anyone know if this Complete Warner Bros. Singles set is currently available? I can't seem to find information about it on any of the major music retailer websites, but the title is listed for $24.98 right now on the Collector's Choice website. If you go there and click to put the CD set in a shopping cart, a message comes up saying "this item usually ships in 2-3 days", which seems to imply the set is presently in stock. I know Collector's Choice often exclusively offers its own product on its website for a period of time first before extending availability on other retail sites, and thus I typically prefer to wait and purchase Collector's Choice titles for a little bit less elsewhere.

Does anyone have any additional information about this new Petula Clark release?

Amen, Jim.

Paul, the Deep Discount website (owned by Collector's Choice) also lists it as available now, but when you put it in your cart it says "pre-order" and lists a release date of September 21st. (And it does say "around" that date.)

This is one I don't think I can wait for to show up in stores... I think I'll have to actually order this one directly from Collector's Choice.

And Petula is one of those artists where there is often a significant difference between the mono and stereo versions. I can't speak for YBCH (never particularly cared for the song and only have it on the vinyl GH), but many/most of her 1966 hits are quite different between the GH & the 45. "My Love" and "Sign Of The Times" almost sound like different takes.

Wow, I very frequently purchase CDs through the Deep Discount website and I had no idea it's owned by the good folks at Collector's Choice. It makes me feel even better about giving Deep Discount so much of my business!

And as I think further about the new Petula Clark Complete Warner Brothers Singles release, I've decided I'm actually going to pay the extra money to buy the set on the Collector's Choice website... I figure in this day of rapidly declining CD sales that if a record label is willing to go through an exhaustive, painstaking effort to assemble a high quality compilation of hard-to-find mixes with the music collector in mind, then the company more than deserves to receive a higher profit margin by having consumers purchase the product directly through its website.

Unfortunately, it did not Ed. The chance of that CD set
getting released is less likely as time goes on (IMO).

Dang. I didn't know it was even scheduled, and when I read this thread I wanted to buy it. Oh well. :)
