Pat:

I have a Teresa Brewer CD in my collection called A Sweet Old-Fashioned Girl that is currently not accounted for in the database. It's a U.S. compilation released in 1995 on MCA Special Products 35811. This CD includes Brewer's hit "Anymore", which to this point has not appeared on any other domestic release. Below is all the pertinent information regarding the database Top 40 hits on this disc:

(M) (2:28) LET ME GO, LOVER!
(M) (2:33) A TEAR FELL (buzz noticeable during the fadeout)
(M) (2:19) BO WEEVIL
(M) (2:55) A SWEET OLD FASHIONED GIRL
(M) (2:17) MUTUAL ADMIRATION SOCIETY
(M) (2:47) EMPTY ARMS
(S) (2:48) THE HULA HOOP SONG
(M) (2:19) ANYMORE

Also, although not listed in the database presumably due to its low composite chart peak, the #40 Billboard hit "Heavenly Lover" appears on this CD in stereo and runs 2:21.

There is a slight difference between the appearance of the song "Anymore" on this CD and my U.S. commercial 45. On the CD there is a percussion beat audible over the opening guitar note. I do not hear this percussion beat on my 45. (It may be that the 45 simply fades in slightly later.)

On first hearing "The Hula Hoop Song" on this CD (in stereo), I thought it sounded different than my 45. But after comparing the two a few times, I cannot detect any vocals or instrumentation present on one but not the other. It can simply be a bit jarring sometimes to hear a recording in stereo when you've been listening to it in mono for decades, especially when whoever made the stereo mix didn't attempt to retain the 'feel' of the mono mix. ("The Hula Hoop Song" appears in mono on the Teresa Brewer Bear Family import Teenage Dance Party.)
