It's worth noting a couple different versions of the song "Good Life" by OneRepublic.
First, there is a clean version of what I presume to be the album version. It mutes the entire word "bullshit" at 1:35 and 3:46. There's also a far superior "Pop Edit" that was serviced to radio digitally. It is a much hotter mix overall, with louder drums and more compression. This mix mutes only the "shit" in B.S., and it also shortens the drum intro of the song. |

My U.S. promo CD-single contains two tracks:
1. Super Clean (4:14) 2. Clean (4:14) Both tracks are actually a second or two shorter than the stated times. The 'Super Clean' version edits the entire 'BS' word, while the 'Clean' version edits only the 'S' part. Otherwise both versions seem identical to the LP version to me, so it appears that neither is the 'Pop Edit' that Aaron mentions above. |

Do we know how many custom city versions were sent out to radio? I'm aware of the DC version, but I'm not sure how many others were made or if they were made available for sale.

There was definitely a Dallas version, but I'm not aware if any of the
local versions were made available for sale. |

Hmm... There's a stand-alone single on Qobuz called "Remix," but it lists the running time as 3:49, and now I see on the cover art that it says "Remix featuring B.o.B." Edited by Brian W. |

No B.o.B on the Pop Edit.

There's a "Pop Mix" on the TM Century Discs that's a much hotter mix overall, with louder drums and more compression (must be basically the same as the version you describe, Aaron, but it edits out the entire word "bulls**t" at both points, 1:35 and 3:46 (which could have been a TM edit, as they often do.) There's a promo CD single called "Pop Mix", which may or may not edit out the full "B.S." word twice. What does it say at the 3:46 point, Aaron? What's interesting is that on the new pop mix, lead singer Ryan Tedder is singing much higher melodies on the outro lines "Sometimes there's airplanes you can't jump out. Sometimes there's bulls**t that don't work now. We've got our stories but tell me...." - which isn't anywhere on the original recording, meaning that Ryan probably went back to the studio to sing the higher melodies for the single, but it would seem that you don't fully get the higher melody of the second "B.S." line anyhwere, if the promo CD single edits out the 2nd syllable and TM edits out both syllables at the 3:46 point. Aaron (or if anyone else has it), would it be possible to send me a WAV of your pop mix (assuming it's from the promo CD single and not from Hit Discs)? BTW, I just ordered UK CD singles with radio edits/mixes of "Suddently I See" by KT Tunstall and "Bulletproof" by La Roux, so I'm hoping they're the dj promo mixes I'm looking for, and can share when I get them, if anyone wants...
