I appreciate having a forum to ask questions like this - no one else in the world even knows this song. lol

I just received the Cory Daye CD "Cory and Me" in the mail. Gold Legion got Sony to reissue this LP on CD. On Amazon, it looked as though the CD reissue contained the single versions of the disco hits "Pow Wow" and "Green Light" but sadly these are not included.

"Pow Wow" did briefly hit the Hot 100 in 1979. Does anyone have the single edit of this? Is it easy to create from the LP version?

Thanks as always for the help!
Frank

Pass the peace pipe, Frank...."Pow Wow" received
significant airplay on WKTU in NY in 1979, so you're not
alone.
(Altho most folks here know Cory as the lead vocalist on
Dr. Buzzard's "Whispering/Cherchez La Femme").

Sadly, i no longer have my 45. But i may have a friend who
still owns one, so i'll check get back you you on it. And
yes, the 45 can be edited from the LP version.

Mark, I can always count on you. :)

This song is so not PC by today's standards. It really is funny to see what was released without any fanfare back in the 1970s. It sure is catchy though. :)

Ah yes the PC issue, anytime i hear it these days i
realized that even it made the top 40, no one could play
it for all the stereo-typed Indian elements. Same reason
no one will touch "Indian Lake" or "Indian Giver". All in
fun but not polite to play anymore.

But, yeah it's just too catchy to forget.

Frank, i emailed for a 45 dub and he must have been at
his computer because i got a 45 reference dub 20 minutes
later!
Will send re-created 45 edit later tonight!

I've been ripping through a Time-Life collection called "Disco Fever." It's a 12 CD collection from 2006 which has a 4 minute version of Pow Wow.

From what I can see, this is a larger collection of disco tracks and nearly an identical CD twin to the Time-Life "We Love The Nightlife" set.

What is the duration of the 45 version?
<Dave> Someone please tell I-Heart Radio that St. Louis is not known as The Loo!
