Can the stereo LP version of "Piece of My Heart" by Big Brother & The Holding Company be edited to match the 45 version, or is there something unique in the 45 mix (other than being in mono) that makes it so you can't replicate the 45 from the LP version?

I did an edit of the LP version to match the 45. I don't think there was anything unique on the mono 45 in terms of instrumentation, vocals, etc. However, the EQ, balancing, compression, etc. is a bit different on the 45...the mono 45 version sounds like it was mixed with AM radio in mind.

Using the CD version found on the remastered edition of Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits. Your timings may vary:
Remove 00:09 - 00:15 Remove 02:12 - 03:17 Fades out completely around 03:45. |

The section from about 2:28 to 2:34 is repeated at about
2:34. Fade starts around 2:33 and fades out completely around 2:43. |
