The album version of Backstreet Boys' "Drowning" has a run time of 4:26, which reflects what's been on all database CDs to date. However, on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio DJ CD subscription series, there is an edit of the song which runs 4:12. According to the Discogs.com website, there was a promo CD single release for "Drowning" on Jive JDJ-42973-2 with the following tracks and listed run times:
1) Album Version - 4:29 2) Short Edit - 4:16 The disc also has a "Call Out Research Hook" on Tracks 3 and 4. If anyone who has a copy of the promo CD single could please pass along the actual run times, it would be much appreciated! |

Actual run times for the Album Version and Short Edit on the promo CD
single are 4:27 and 4:13, respectively. |

To answer my own question, I found a copy online to
listen to so I could determine that there is one edit. Keep 0:00.000 to 3:38,872 Remove 3:38.872 to 3:52.406 Keep 3:52.406 to the end. Resulting edit runs 4:12. |

A second promo CD single was issued with 4 Dann Huff
country remixes. From Jive promo CD single JDJ-42996-2: 1 Drowning [Dann Huff's Remix 1] 4:33 2 Drowning [Dann Huff's Remix 1 Radio Edit] 4:20 3 Drowning [Dann Huff's Remix 2] 4:34 4 Drowning [Dann Huff's Remix 2 Radio Edit] 4:20 After removing silence, the actual times are within 1 second of each listed time. |
