The short DJ edit of "Ballroom Blitz" can easily be created from the 45/LP version. You simply edit out 2:12 to 2:54, right before the "yeah, yeah, yeah" lyric.

The oldest disc I have with "Ballroom Blitz" is Capitol's The Best Of Sweet (1992). It's mastered with a tremendous amount of high end, so that opening snare drum practically knocks you off your chair. That's not really a good thing, but you don't have much choice because most CDs with the song are based on the mastering for Best Of. The same analog transfer is used for:
As Aaron noted two years ago, creating the promo 45 edit is very easy: Using AM Gold Vol. 22 1975 as the source, remove 2:12.1 to 2:54.1, editing on the beat that falls on the first "yeah". I don't have Best Of anymore, but the timings will likely be very close to AM Gold. |
