One of two DMX songs featured in Pat's database, I only have a stock CD single for "Get At Me Dog." I've looked several times for any information on a promo CD single, but I've never found one. Does anyone have a promo CD for this song?

The stock single (Def Jam 314 568 862-2) contains the following tracks:

1. "Get At Me Dog" (featuring Sheek of The Lox) (Radio Edit) (actual 3:06)
2. "Stop Being Greedy" (Radio Edit) (actual 3:37)

["Stop Being Greedy" had its own chart run, peaking at #79 on the Hot 100 in 1998, and it was issued on promo CD DEF 241-2.]

Yes. I have a gold Test Pressing 8041-2148-1342 with one cut: Radio Edit 3:12 actual time. The song also appears on the import of "X Gonna Give It To Ya" with an actual time of 4:05. I have a stock copy 314-568-523-2 with Street Version with an actual time of 3:10 and Instrumental with actual time of 2:55.

Thanks for the additional info, Tom! Currently the database has running times of 3:04 or 3:05 for CDs containing the "45 version", which is pretty much the same as the stock CD single. The LP version runs an extra minute, but it's merely a skit at the end of the track, which starts at 3:05.

Any idea what accounts for the additional :06 of audio on your test pressing promo CD? If it's any help, the stock CD single starts with music and ends with an explosion sound effect.

The Radio Edit starts with music and ends with an explosion sound effect also.

I just heard the test pressing promo CD, and while the CD display reads "3:12" when the disc is inserted, the actual playing time is 3:06, just like the stock CD single. There is a second of dead space at the beginning, 3 seconds of dead space at the end of the track, and the -0:02 lead in that appears at the beginning of all CD-Rs, which make a grand total of 3:12 including the blank space. For database purposes, the actual run time is 3:06.
