Just entered the data from the new cd "2015 Grammy Nominees" in the database and found one discrepancy. On the Coldplay cd "Ghost Stories" the track "A Sky Full Of Stars" runs (4:27) but on the "2015 Grammy Nominees" cd this track is an edit running (3:55). Anyone know where this (3:55) edit originated?

Pat,
Not much help, but I have the track downloaded from the
UK Now Thats What I Call Music 88. It's labeled as the
Radio Edit running 3:55.

Was there an official U.S. Radio Edit? If so, guessing
that's the case for you too.

I am not aware of a shorter version serviced to US radio stations, at least not for the original version/mix. There was a shorter dance mix called the "Alternate Avicii Pop Edit."

There was a 9 track digital release in July 2014 of the dance remixes, but track 1 was the "Radio Edit" with a listed time of 3:56.

Was this 9 track release a digital download only?

I believe this (rather unusual) version is what (Hit) 104.7 played when the song was a current hit:

However, there doesn't appear to be a proper title for this mix. I have an MP3 file where the tag reads "A Sky Full of Stars (Alternate Pop Edit)", and Hit 104.7's logs call it the "Avicii Pop Edit". The video linked has a combination of both.

This was serviced on TM Century PrimeCuts as "Alternate Avicii Pop Edit." Earlier in the thread, I referred to this as a "dance mix," but it's actually not a radically different mix. In addition to being edited, the other noticeable difference is some added kick drum beats in various parts of the song where there isn't a drum track on the LP version.
