The Time-Life compilation
Superhits Vol. 11 1972 (1991) was later repackaged as
AM Gold Vol. 7 1972 (1991). The disc contents are identical in every way, but the packaging and liner notes are different. There was later a reissue of
AM Gold Vol. 7 1972 with a "RE-1" in the matrix number. The reissue swapped out one song, and used identical digital clones for the remaining tracks.
Unfortunately, due to a mastering error, the left and right channels are swapped on all 21 tracks on
Superhits Vol. 11 1972 and the original (non-RE-1) release of
AM Gold Vol. 7 1972. The left/right channel swaps have propagated into downstream masterings, annoying purists like me. The
source of all these left/right problems is
