This regards the 1984 release, not the '89 remix. (3:52) is the stated and actual run time on the promo 45, which says (Long Version) on it. This is the same version that's on the stock 45. The flip has a stated time of (3:02) but actually runs (3:04), and says (Short Version) on it. (Deadwax: MC-14700EE.)

Good info., Jim! Do you know if promo DJ 45 copies of the "Send Me an Angel '89" remix contained a short edit as well?

Todd: My "Send Me An Angel '89" promo 45 has the exact same everything on both sides of it. A listed time of (3:50), just like the listed Whitburn time. In case you want to compare my promo deadwax # with a 45 you might have, it is CR614A1E/A. I also have a Promo CD single for it, Todd. (CURB CD45-10303). 2 tracks are on it: 1-Another appearance of the (3:50) version, which curiously says (Edit) here. That word appeared nowhere on my promo 45 for it. Perhaps they felt the need to clarify on the Promo CD single, since Cut 2 is a (Dance Mix), with a listed time of (6:15). Since the whole premise of the '89 release was "remix", I believe it logical to assume that the (3:50) version comes from the (6:15) version. I have no evidence of a version put out on this that was any shorter than (3:50).

Anybody know what edits are needed to make the '84 / 3:52 version match the 3:04 Short promo Version, or is it a remix?

It's an edit. Don't recall the edit points, but I'll try to send it over. I'm positive I re-created it a while back.

The actual LP running time is (3:51), with the listed time "3:53" on the LP record label. (title "Heart Land" Curb/MCA MCA-5459)
The commercial 45 speed is slightly slower than the LP speed. (the 45 runs (3:52))
Also, "Give Up" after "Don't give up" once at 1:44 on the commercial 45
The LP's "Give Up" seven or eight times from 1:44 to 1:48 by a echo effect on the "Heart Land" vinyl LP like the '89 version.
In addition, the reflect echo at the ending is differ entirely between two.

Not sure if Indy500 ever had his question answered... but I'm bumping this up in the hope that someone can provide editing instructions for the 3:04 version please.
