do any of the db entries contain the proper 45 version
with re-verb?....the 'capitol years' cd box set i have is dry......but, with a little tinkering, i converted the stereo version to mono and a slight amount of re-verb and it matches pretty well now... Edited by edtop40 |

The reverb on Sinatra's vocals are not present on any stereo release I've ever heard. The reverb on the 45 is not particularly heavy, but it's definitely noticeable. This 1959 single does not seem to have appeared on an album until All The Way in 1961, which would have been its first release in stereo. The studio talk before the song starts on Capitol Collectors Series is rather amusing; you can hear Sinatra talk to the children. It's hard to fathom that in 1959 someone was listening to Frank Sinatra's voice and thought to himself, "Hmm, this voice needs some reverb." Edited by Paul C |
