I know, it's a silly song but it's in my head, and I can't find an alternate version that I once had that had a short spoken word intro. I'm pretty sure that it's out there somewhere, my copy was on a long ago lost 8-track tape. Pat's never heard of it, have any of you?

'Incense & Oldies' was the original LP that contained the intro you're looking for. It subsequently made it to a few other vinyl comps.

I'm impressed! I didn't really think anyone would know. How strange that the intro isn't on the original Sopwith Camel album.

Oh, I get it! I googled the album, and found this "This is a strange album which features a spaced-out announcer between cuts introducing each song, more or less."

I have this version on a various artists lp, i believe from Columbia Special Products, don't remember the title offhand but might be called "Rock Shoes" ??
::edit:: found a second copy of the lp in a pile of albums my neighbor sent me. see next post. I thought it was Rock Shoes because there is a pair of shoes on the lp cover. Edited by TomDiehl1 |

"if you meet a wayward camel while walking in the snow,
what can a startled person say except "hello hello." I was listening to the Sunshine Days collection the other day when I thought of this one. I had this one on a Buddah compilation 2 LP collection on the GRT label. While I was in college I did an oldies show on campus and left a few LP's in the car too long. You know what happened next! |

Ah yes, announcer credit was "I.R. Flowers". Wasn't this really Scotty Brink? I know he did the brief interviews between the cuts on Tommy Roe's "12 In A Roe" album. |

I still have several demo copies of that GRT double-LP set. The front covers were stamped "demo copy" but were shrink-wrapped, and "Tailored Music" was printed below the GRT logo on the labels. Sorry to hear that your copy met the same fate as the Wicked Witch of the West. :( I'd never known of the spoken intro on "Hello Hello" until I heard it on this LP. There was a lot of stereo content on that set (15 out of the 22 cuts.) |
