my commercial 45 for the procol harum song "homburg" issued
as a&m 885 states the run time of 3:53 and does indeed run that length and it should be noted that the 45 is slightly pitched up from the 3:55 cd version from "a&m classics" |

Just discovering this song now. Seems there are stereo versions out there that
fade a bit early, while others run the same length as the single. Since it was a single-only release, finding the first LP to have it becomes a challenge. Of course, discogs helps immensely and two LPs pop up: 1970 Netherlands compilation "Procol Harum Portrait" - discogs timing 3:45, unknown if stereo, and 1971 UK/Europe LP "Flyback 4 The Best Of Procol Harum", full length and stereo. The US 1972 "The Best Of Procol Harum" was mono. |
