although not in the db because of it's low peak chart
position of number 33 in 1969, my commercial 45 for the
miracles song 'abraham, martin and john' issued as tamla
54184 lists the run time on the label as 2:51 but actually
runs 2:59....you'll have to pitch down the 'anthology' cd
version a bit to match the vinyl 45 speed...

Complete Motown Singles Vol. 9 1969 Disc 3 (2008) has two different mixes of Smokey Robinson And The Miracles' "Abraham Martin and John", but they're not labeled correctly.

The "Alternate Mix" (disc 3, track 15) is the proper mono 45 version, which runs (more or less) at the right speed. It's the same version that's on 35th Anniversary Collection (1994) and Anthology (1995), and Time-Life's Solid Gold Soul Vol. 28 Inspiration (2000), allof which have a slightly larger dynamic range than Complete Motown Singles. All sound fine.

The unlabeled mono mix on Complete Motown Singles (disc 3, track 14), is not the mono 45 version. Aside from running about 3.9% faster than the 45, there are mix differences. The biggest difference is from 1:45 to 2:15 - the unlabeled mix has prominent horns, but the 45 has no such horns.
There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.
