While browsing the Net today, I came across this CD on amazon:
Perry Como "Standards & Rarities Vol. 2: If I Could Be With You" a
November 2014 release. The notes below state that the #19 b-side
"Dance Only With Me" is in stereo. It also seems to have the original
recording of "Ivy Rose", not yet listed as being on a US CD in the
database.

I managed to find MP3s of these and yes, Dance Only With Me is
stereo and Ivy Rose is the original. This CD would be a key CD, if
indeed my MP3s came from it, which I believe to be the case.

However, the CD appears to be from the U.K., so the database will not
need an update.

dc was kind enough to forward me the two perry como tracks
missing from my collection for my review......and here's
what i've come up with.......'ivy rose' issued as the b-
side of rca victor 7050 with 'just born (to be your baby)'
as the a-side lists a run time on the label as 3:04 but
actually runs 3:05 and this file matches my vinyl 45
perfectly......'dance only with me' issued as the b-side of
rca victor 7202 with 'kewpie doll' as the a-side lists a
run time on the label as 2:46 but actually runs 2:47.....if
you fold down the stereo version dc sent you can
effectively re-create the mono 45 version.....
thx dc!!

Aaron,

Take note this top 40 Billboard hit from 1958 is not in the database. I do not know a CD it is actually on as I have numerous Perry Como comps and they don't have it. If anyone knows what CD either in the US or overseas kindly chime in. Thanks.

I'm happy to take a stereo but would prefer the mono. Anything would be better then the quality I have right now....

I do have a digital copy from {1942-1962 Hits Collection} which appears lossless but the sound isn't as good as Como's other 1957-1959 recordings from the same period....

Rich, here are the two mp3s I discussed in my 2014 post. They sound fine.

David,

Did you ever find out where your stereo "Dance Only with Me" actually came from? I do hear vinyl noise (although it is pretty clean).

Do you have the stereo "Ivy Rose" to listen to?

Thanks!

I came across the 1943-1962 collection from Acrobat online and the sound isn't the greatest. Haven't there been issues with collections from Acrobat in the past?

That's the only place to find it John G in mono the 1943-1962 collection. Otherwise it has no digital CD footprint....

It's been 11 years and my notes show that the stereo "Dance Only With Me" came from the CD I mention, but I don't remember the specifics as to how I got the actual song - I didn't buy the actual CD myself.

Ivy Rose is not stereo, only mono.
