Anyone own the vinyl 45? I have the two-track cassette single, and it uses the 5:01 Club Mix, with the Radio Mix of "Play That Funky Music" as the second track. Both tracks are on both sides of the cassette.
Whitburn lists the 45 as running 4:53, which is probably what it says on the label. I own the promo CD single, which is SKC Records DPRO-05357, and it contains: 1. Radio Mix Edit 3:48 2. Radio Mix 4:28 3. Club Mix 4:59 (though it's actually 5:01) As far as I know, the Club Mix, which actually is a different mix, wasn't issued on CD outside the promo, even on imports. Most comps seem to use the 4:28 Radio Mix. Anyone own the 45 that can verify the actual running time? (Beware that turntable speeds can very quite a bit.) |
