Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer than we thought. My sources say that this set has been pushed back to May 17th.

CD Universe seems to have the best price on this set so far, by a wide margin -- $41.99.

The Cameo-Parkway box set officially arrives at retail today! Has anyone picked up their copy yet?

Looks like we now start crossing off a bunch of Top 40 hits on the "missing on CD" list!

Mine's on order, but probably won't show up until this weekend. But I know I'm looking forward to updating my CD checklist. ^_^

A friend of mine has had an advance promo copy for a couple weeks, and he says that many of the tracks sound better than he expected.

It's been reported on another message board that the Cameo-Parkway box set does not include the following Top 40 hits:

"Birdland" - Chubby Checker
"(Dance the) Mess Around" - Chubby Checker
"Dancin’ Party" - Chubby Checker
"The Fly" - Chubby Checker
"Hey, Bobba Needle" - Chubby Checker
"Hooka Tooka" - Chubby Checker
"The Hucklebuck" - Chubby Checker
"Lazy Elsie Molly" - Chubby Checker
"Let’s Do the Freddie" - Chubby Checker
"Let’s Limbo Some More" - Chubby Checker
"Loddy Lo" - Chubby Checker
"Popeye (The Hitchhiker)" - Chubby Checker
"Twenty Miles" - Chubby Checker
"Twist It Up" - Chubby Checker

"Bristol Twistin’ Annie" - The Dovells
"Hully Gully Baby" - The Dovells

"Butterfly Baby" - Bobby Rydell
"Ding-a-Ling" - Bobby Rydell
"The Fish" - Bobby Rydell
"Good Time Baby" - Bobby Rydell
"I Wanna Thank You" - Bobby Rydell
"I’ll Never Dance Again" - Bobby Rydell
"(I’ve Got) Bonnie" - Bobby Rydell
"Little Bitty Girl" - Bobby Rydell
"Sway" - Bobby Rydell
"That Old Black Magic" - Bobby Rydell
"Wildwood Days" - Bobby Rydell

"Wild" - Dee Dee Sharp

It's believed the ABKCO label will eventually offer individual greatest hits CDs by Chubby Checker, The Dovells, Bobby Rydell, and Dee Dee Sharp and will include most or all of these missing hits.

Okay, I've got mine, and enjoyed it a lot. Really nice sound.

However, the packaging leaves a lot to be desire. Each CD is in a cardboard slip-case that the disc will fall out of very easily. In fact, I had disc 3 slip out on the way to the car and hit the pavement on the edge. Luckily, it didn't break, but has a nice little scratch on it.
