I ran across this tonight... I've got lists elsewhere for 1994-2000, but I'm not sure where they are.

This is my old list from when I first began collecting the top ten hits on CD singles back in the mid-90's. It lists the running time and version for each song, all taken from the commercial CD singles or cassette singles. Hope this can be of use. (There are some discrepancies, such as the Brownstone song saying "LP Version - Radio Edit" that I'll check up on later.)

Tootsie Roll - 69 Boyz (Rap Version - 4:18)
Before I Let You go - Blackstreet (LP Version - 5:00)
I'm the Only One - Melissa Etheridge (LP Version - 4:54)
CREEP - TLC (LP Version - 4:27)
Sukiyaki - 4 P.M. (Lover's Groove Radio Mix - 2:41)

I have a promo CD single of "Kiss From a Rose" which contains a fade version and the LP length version. I always assumed the commercial CD singles had the fade version. Are you saying they had the LP length?

You list Del Amitri's "Roll To Me" as 3:12 LP version. I have the album on CD and I always recall this song being nearly 2 minutes, like 2:12. Is this a typo or are there different pressings of the CD?

Yes, the commercial CD single for "Kiss from a Rose" was the full 4:48 LP Version, b/w the song "I'm Alive." It came in a plain white paper card sleeve with black lettering, no artwork.

"Roll to Me" is a typo -- it's 2:12.

Brownstone's "If You Love Me" is not a typo after all -- it's listed on the CD maxi-single as "LP Version (Radio Edit)." It's the fourth track on the CD maxi single. I do not recall specifically verifying that it was the same version as the A-side of the two track cassette single, but I was obsessed with getting the cassette single version, and I don't think I would have written it down if I had not verified that that the cassette single used that "LP Version (Radio Edit)."

Brian:

Does your commercial singles list show actual or printed run times?

Oh, boy. I honestly... don't remember. I compiled it, what, eight years ago? I do seem to remember using actual run times. I know I did for at least some of them, but I'm not positive about all of them. I'll try to go through in the coming days and verify with the actual run times.
