Does anyone have the promo CD(s) for this one and could post the particulars? I know another mix or two exists out there.

I have the LP but I've seen the two promos for sale. One says special radio edit
that runs 3:57 and is the only song on that promo cd. There is another promo cd that just has one track but no info. I was going to PM the person selling it asking him the running time since I have purchased some CD's from him...some good ones btw but haven't. I would assume the promo is just an early fade of the single version I have. |

I have four different promo CDs for "Can't Enough Of Your Love":
ASCD-2582 1. non-described version (actual 4:25) ASCD-2586 (REMIXES) 1. Radio 2 Version (listed 5:13; actual 5:14) 2. Radio 1 Version (listed & actual 4:50) (This disc is a plain silver disc with no printing on it, but the catalog is in the matrix. The jewel case has a plain white typed sticker with the versions and listed times.) ASCD-2598 1. Special Radio Edit (listed & actual 3:57) (This version has a shorter intro without the spoken part. It is not possible to create using the LP version due to vocals being removed from the mix.) ASCD-2605 1. Urban Remix (listed & actual 5:40) |

To supplement the promo CD track listing and run times that Aaron provided, I can confirm that maxi-CD single copies of Taylor Dayne's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" feature the "Album Version", which has an actual and printed run time of 4:25. Now, if we're getting into the business of providing the full track listing and run time info for commercial maxi-CD singles, then I'll go ahead and post it below:
(Arista 07822-12583-2) 1) Album version (actual and printed run time: 4:25) 2) C+C Extended Club Mix I (actual and printed time: 6:05) 3) C+C Extended Club Mix II (actual: 6:45; printed: 6:46) 4) C+C Special Edition Mix (actual: 6:13; printed: 6:12) There was also a standard cassette single and maxi-cassette single release for "Can't Get Enough of Your Love". If anyone has either, or both, please feel free to time the tracks and report back. Also, I can confirm that the Dance Diva Remixes & Rarities CD (Sony BMG Music Entertainment Custom Marketing Group 40750) contains the 12" single version, which is the "C+C Extended Club Mix". This is the same version that's on Track 2 of the above listed maxi-CD single. However, please note that this is not to be confused with the "C+C Extended Album Club Mix" that appears on the Playlist: The Very Best of CD (Arista/Legacy 374199). That remix, which runs 4:44, also appears as one of the tracks on the 12" single release of "Can't Get Enough of Your Love". Yep, here's that slippery slope we've been worried about! LOL |

I updated the entry for Dance Diva Remixes..., but I haven't yet added any of the additional remixes from the CD maxi. Let's table that until I can get the website updates finished. Then we can decide if we want to start listing all these various versions.

Thanks for the database updates, Aaron. The one remaining issue I still see with this particular entry, however, is that the title notes for Taylor Dayne's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" currently have only the DJ promo CD single information, which then naturally leaves database users wondering which version was featured the commercial single release(s), given that no info regarding the latter is listed.
Here's what I have gathered about the song's commercial single releases: ==> As I confirmed in my previous post, the maxi-CD single features the "Album Version" as the lead track running 4:25. ==> The cassette single does not state a version on the cardboard sleeve or label, but I would say it's highly probable that it, too, contains the same version as on the maxi-CD single and parent CD/album. I don't know if edtop40 was still collecting cassette singles for 1993 Top 40 hits, but if so (or if another forum member has a copy), it would sure be great to have that timing info! ==> There was a vinyl 45 release, which does not state a version on the label but contains a printed run time of 4:25. Thus, it's a pretty darn good bet that this is the maxi-CD single and CD/album version, though we still require verification, of course, per database policy. ==> I also just discovered that, according to the Discogs website, this song was issued on a maxi-cassette single format and features the "C+C Extended Club Mix" on Track 1, which is also Track 1 on the 12" single release. Therefore, we should strongly consider revising the database comment for the Dance Diva Remixes & Rarities CD to state: (maxi-cassette single and 12" single version - "C+C Extended Club Mix"). ==> It does not appear that this song was ever issued on a standard CD single configuration. So, Aaron, do you agree that, for the time being, we can at least also enter into the database that commercial maxi-CD single copies of "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" feature the "Album Version" and run 4:25? We can always add info regarding the other commercial single formats as forum users report and confirm it. Also, as I'm thinking this through further, based on the 20+ year history of this message board forum, I think we can all probably agree that at least 98 percent of database users are primarily interested in tracking down single version/lengths, album versions/lengths, and radio edits/lengths. With that said, I'm leaning more toward not listing additional remixes appearing on 12" single, maxi-CD single, and maxi-cassette single releases that A) do not appear anywhere on standard commercial single, album, or promo single releases and B) did not receive significant airplay. And since this is the case with Tracks 3 and 4 on Taylor Dayne's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love" maxi-CD single release, I don't think we need to be concerned about listing these remixes. That's just my opinion, yet I agree that we should just wait to make a final decision regarding the listing of additional remixes once the website updates are finished. Edited by Todd Ireland |

I added a note that reads "commercial copies run (4:25)." I believe the general rule has always been that when there is no title note and no version designated next to database CDs, then the 45/single and LP versions are the same.
I agree that adding a ton of remixes probably doesn't bring much value, as this info is widely available on Discogs. Where our database differs is that we are documenting the versions where the release does not state what is on it. This info is often times not available anywhere else. |
