Both my commercial 45 and both sides of my promo 45 have a listed time of (3:58) and an actual time of (3:57). However, the promo CD single we received in to the station (CD45-17490) had only one track, featuring a VERY long fade, and having a listed time of (4:12) and an actual time of (4:14).

Is this single just an early fade of the album version? If so, does anyone know where to start the fade to create the single version?

Whenever you see a "length" comment in the database, that's an indication that the only difference is the point at which the song fades out when comparing the single and LP. The database does indicate "length," which answers your first question.

I have the 45 length on an MCA promo sampler. The fade starts at 3:48.2 and goes until 3:56.4.
