All entries in the database refer to it as having an LP version and single version. Tom Daly just posted the track, and he states that the 45 is simply an early fade of the LP. I compared, and he's correct.
Database would need updating. I attempted to find any chats related to the song, but failed as per my recent "Forum Problems" post. |

There are probably several cases in the database where it says "version" instead of length. Here's what Pat said back in 2006:
I have updated the song note to let users know the 45 is an early fade of the LP version. There are more than 75 CDs that have this song, and it would mean updating them one at a time to change "version" to "length." Edited by aaronk - 18 hours 47 minutes ago at 8:34am |

Yeah I remember that issue. I was always of the fade/length camp, as when I see "version" I assume it's not an early fade, rather an edit/distinctly different mix/whatever difference, which affects how I personally label the song (I use 45 fade / LP length, and the opposite in the rare cases where the 45 actually fades later than the LP).
But in this case, is the LP length instrumental really different at the fade point of the 45, which is actually 4:05 not 3:02? I would say "no". Yeah, 75 CDs to update indivually is too much "work". Your "note" works. |

Thanks for pointing out the difference, as it's helpful to note things like that. I agree that "length" should be indicated in all cases when that is the only difference. I cannot say for sure if that is the reason in this case, but that would seem the most obvious answer. If anyone has noticed any mix differences between the 45 and LP, I'll remove the note about it being an early fade.
