Quick question for the room. Noticed that the LP version of "Farmer John" has a 20 second (or thereabouts) intro. Can this intro be snipped off to create the 45, or is there overlapping involved that would make it not possible?
TIA. Edited by sriv94 |

Hi Doug,
Actually the mono 45 version does not start cold with the music, it has a shorter (:05) intro with no talking, the crowd yelling one big "Yaaaaaaaaay" and a "Whooooooo" then the music kicks in. From the start of the music, the 2 versions are the same, altho on the mono mix the vocals are a little lower in the mix. It seems made that album intro after the fact and tacked it onto the track. I've already made a "stereo 45" version with the correct intro, be happy to mail it you if you like. -Mark M |

The stereo 45 that Mark created never got officially released on CD. Would have been a good one for Hit Parade or Eric Records to include on one of their various artists compilations.
A top 20 hit in 1964. Surprised Bill Buster never included it on either the Hard To Find 45s On CD, Jukebox Classics or Stereo Explosion series. |
