Pat:

That database states the following for "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls:

dj and commercial copies of this cd single run (3:36).

I'm pretty certain "Iris" was never released on a commercial single format (unless it was issued on one years after the song was a hit). If I'm right, then the version running 3:36 really should be listed as a DJ edit only.

Pat:

I see you changed the comment for "Iris" to: dj commercial copies of this cd single run (3:36). Since it's been established that there was no commercial single, would you agree that the (LP version) comments next to each CD entry are no longer necessary?

Although the contents of both are EXACTLY the same, I have two different promo CD single issues for "Iris." (PRO-CD-9257) has a royal blue face with green lettering. (PRO-CD-9285-R) simply has the "generic" silver CD with standard Reprise black lettering. They both have on them:

1-Edit (listed time 3:36), (actual time 3:35)
2-Album Version (listed time 4:51), (actual time 4:50)

Jim:

Thank you for clarifying that promo CD single copies of "Iris" also contain the 4:51 album version (though the areas I've lived have always played the radio edit). I only have the 3:36 edit on my Promo Only DJ CD subscription series, so I was never certain as to what tracks were on the promo CD single.
