Regarding Smoke On The Water, there is a tape glitch at
3:29 on the live 45 version. That glitch also appears on
the live LP version so it must have been on the master
tape.

Regarding Woman From Tokyo, the mono 45 appears to be a
fold down of there stereo 45 version. You'll need to slow
down the stereo 45 version by 1% to run 2:56 like the true
45.

So, it seems from the above info, the first "Woman From Tokyo" 45 was stereo.

So this talk of "mono 45"...what is that? The DJ 45 had a short mono side. Or
was there a stereo and mono 45?

Good question, David. The dub I have from Jim (RIP) is
mono, yet John Pratt says there were stereo copies.

Thanks for revisiting this one, David. I took out the mono
fold I did and put the stereo 45 version of "Woman From
Tokyo" in my library.

So was Smoke On The Water their only mono single? I have a
Highway Star 45 that's stereo and Might Just Take Your Life
is stereo.

Hi People,

I'm still left confused about "Woman From Tokyo".

Was the 45 edit of "Woman From Tokyo" EVER released
COMMERCIALLY in the US in MONO? (caps for emphasis)

My limited research seems to indicate all commercial
releases on 45 were stereo; the promo 45 on one side
featured the edit folded-to-mono and rolled-off at about
7k...

Andy
